MJK Fund Development

What is "Fund Development"?

Simply stated, “fund development” is acquiring resources to advance the mission of your organization.  Fund development is the process by which an organization uses fundraising to build capacity and sustainability. It is part of the strategic marketing of a nonprofit organization. Fund development is not only concerned with raising money, but also develops reliable sources of income that will sustain the organization through the realization of its long-term mission and vision. Building relationships with people and other supportive organizations is also a component of profitable fund development. Successful fund development requires a strategic plan that relates funding to the purpose and programs of the organization.

Coordinating with a professional fund developer, such as MJK Consulting, will assist your organization with…

  • General fundraising: The art of generating funds through individuals and/or the philanthropic community for a specific purpose/project; budget planning
  • Relationship fundraising: Strategic activities that are based on establishing relationships with potential givers/donors, individuals and/or foundations
  • Organization leadership: The process of making decisions, setting and achieving goals and generally keeping the organization together; board development and administration
